Baby Eleanor made her safe (and speedy!) arrival on December 21st. Her brother and four sisters are just thrilled with her. What a wonderful Christmas present!

I’m so blessed to have a husband who complies with request such as “Honey, can you paint peg people for the kids for Christmas?”. Peg people are gaining popularity and there is no shortage of set ideas on Pinterest and Etsy. I love the direction that my husband took with the painting. Details like the facial hair on the cowboys just slay me! Most peg people you see online are painted with acrylic paints. We used natural milk paint and finished them with a homemade beeswax finish. I think they turned out great and I’m sure the kids will be thrilled with them!

Wood peg people available at Stockade in Canada. Sample kit of Milk Paint available at Gallaghers.

Our youngest is three! Where has the time gone? It was a sweet and simple handmade birthday this year. A snake made from old tights, some felted friends, a flannel night gown, an oilcloth apron and a felt Christmas crown.

Yarn Along

A nice mindless piece to work on while I wait for baby to arrive. Any day now! The pattern for the Pillar Lace Cowl can be found here on Ravelry.

Linking up today with Ginny for her weekly Yarn Along. Yes, knitting and reading are two of my favourite things too!
